ZooPodium [zoo-poh-dee-uhm] Animal Photography Studio was born from a collaboration of two well-known Toronto based portrait photographers Andrew Maidanik and Asya Akhoundov, with a combined portrait photography experience of over 30 years. Both artists have a lifetime experience and share a great love for dogs, cats and other animals which reflects in the unique unprecedented style of their animal portraits. In addition to their vast photography experience, Asya has over 25 years of dog training experience and always shares her valuable knowledge during photo sessions. Possessing an intimate knowledge of both studio and natural lighting techniques, we offer either type of photography based on your preference, your pet’s personality, mood or time of the year. So regardless of your pet’s personality, size, mood or temperature outside, we will always be able to create a portrait of your dog, cat, horse or any other pet that you will cherish forever. Most of us treat our four legged companions as human beings, so it’s not surprising that combining our vast experience in human and animal portraiture our style has the best of both, often requiring sophisticated lighting schemas and equipment but only to most naturally portray the true essence of your pet. We are strictly against any type of invasive photography and never force any props, costumes, hats etc. onto dogs, cats or, God forbid alligators.
